چکیده

We study the μ < 0 branch of the minimal supergravity ansatz of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The extent to which μ < 0 is disfavoured compared to μ > 0 in global fits is calculated with Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods and bridge sampling. The fits include state-of-the-art two-loop MSSM contributions to the electroweak observables MW and sin 2 θ w, as well as the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (g − 2)μ, the relic density of dark matter and other relevant indirect observables. μ < 0 is only marginally disfavoured in global fits and should be considered in mSUGRA analyses. We estimate that the ratio of probabilities is P (μ < 0)/P (μ > 0) = 0.07− 0.16.

Determining the Dark Matter Relic Density in the mSUGRA τ̃-χ̃01 Co-Annhiliation Region at the LHC

We examine the stau-neutralino co-annihilation mechanism of the early universe. We use the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) model and show that from measurements at the LHC one can predict the dark matter relic density with an uncertainty of 6% with 30 fb of data, which is comparable to the direct measurement by WMAP. This is possible by introducing measurements involving b-quark jets to determine...

Building a Better mSUGRA: WIMP Dark Matter Without Flavor Violation

The appearance of a natural dark matter candidate, the neutralino, is among the principal successes of minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) and its descendents. In lieu of a suitable ultraviolet completion, however, theories of gravity-mediated supersymmetry breaking such as mSUGRA suffer from arbitrary degrees of flavor violation. Though theories of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking are free from...

Determining the Dark Matter Relic Density in the mSUGRA Stau-Neutralino Co-Annihilation Region at the LHC

We examine the stau-neutralino co-annihilation (CA) mechanism of the early universe. We use the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) model and show that from measurements at the LHC one can predict the dark matter relic density with an uncertainty of 6% with 30 fb of data, which is comparable to the direct measurement by WMAP. This is done by measuring four mSUGRA parameters m0, m1/2, A0 and tan β wit...

Implications of Muon anomalous magnetic moment for Direct detection of Neutralino Dark Matter

We investigate the implications of the recent measurement of muon anomalous magnetic moment for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter in the three different SUSY models: mSUGRA, a model with non-universal Higgs mass, and an SO(10) GUT model. We consider two extreme scenario for ∆aμ bound, i.e. 27 × 10 < ∆aμ < 59 × 10 (1σ bound) and 0 < ∆aμ < 11 × 10 (2σ below). In mSUGRA model, the cou...

Bayesian Selection of sign μ within mSUGRA in Global Fits Including WMAP5 Results

We study the properties of the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (mSUGRA) by performing fits to updated indirect data, including the relic density of dark matter inferred from WMAP5. In order to find the extent to which μ < 0 is disfavoured compared to μ > 0, we compare the Bayesian evidence values for these models, which we obtain straightforwardly and with good precision from ...
